Current local news affecting today's business traveler
In the second quarter of 2015, the total amount of travel spending in Germany decreased slightly – this is the result indicated by the new CWT Business Travel Barometer, which analyzes the overall bookings made at CWT in Germany during this period. The reason: ticket prices for planes and trains are falling. In addition, almost half of the travellers who booked flights during the second quarter of this year did so more than 14 days in advance to get a lower price.
On the other hand, hotel prices increased across all categories. The most popular category was still the standard room (49 percent), followed by the first-class room (36.5 percent). The average duration of the hotel stay remained unchanged (2.3 days on average).
The entire CWT Business Travel Barometer with more interesting data will be published soon
(currently available in German only).
